Two years ago, we had to drop our dental insurance due to high costs. My husband and I were retired and could not afford it. Last year, in 2007, we moved to WA. I was having some dental problems but had no insurance. I went online and found the website for DentalPlans.com.

I studied each plan and decided to just try it for one year as the price was right and it appeared to be okay. I signed up with Patriot Plan Plus. I went to a dentist on the list. My husband came with me. The office staff was so friendly and treated me like an old friend. The dentist was very thorough with the exam, and had such a personal touch. She made me feel so comfortable, asked about my family, how I liked WA, and was just so caring.

She took x-rays, checked each tooth and then explained why one of my crowns fell out; there was decay which caused the crown not to fit properly. I lost my job in November 2006 and the Cobra plan for dental was extremely expensive. I searched the Internet in the hopes of finding a “reasonable plan.” I came across DentalPlans.com and what I really liked was that they actually had “reputable” companies backing up the plans.

I chose the MSofA Dent-All-Plan, Inc. because it offered the perfect plan for our needs. I had an opportunity to use it after Memorial weekend. We went out of town and I had a horrible toothache. When I came home, I was told I had an abscess and needed a root canal. The dentist gave me a prescription for the abscess and told me that in about a week, he could do the root canal for $2630.00. I was a bit floored.

When I got home, I found a dentist close to home. I called her office and told the young lady who answered the phone that I needed a root canal on my #3 tooth. I asked if the dentist performed this procedure and she said no. She did say, however, that the dentist refers her patients to another dentist. I then called the dentist the same day to see if I could get in so she could put a temporary crown on. She had me come right away. She was extremely precise and professional. I intend to keep her as my regular dentist. She is very caring, gentle and honest. What more could a person ask for? Plus, the crown looks and feels like my regular tooth.

I would definitely recommend the plan. Everyone at both dental offices was polite, professional and accommodating! The total cost for my root canal and crown under my plan was $1600.00.

So, needless to say, my experience so far has been awesome and not nearly as painful, in terms of money, as I thought it would be!
